Happy Solstice

Seems that this time of the year we are all in search of light. The days are so short but I find this to be very cozy and comforting.

My nativity from Madagascar.

Happy Solstice to everyone !

First snow storm

We had our first snow storm of the season. It came down most of the day. Suppose to be nicer tomorrow. Fingers crossed please, my daughter is traveling for 5 hours tomorrow to come home for Christmas. Hope she is safe on the highways.

Forest Friends and Lighthouses

My birthday was a month ago but I wanted to wait a few weeks (in order to have your undivided attention) before posting about this beautiful gift I got from my best friend/niece. Forest Friends - check out this fabulous artist. This hoop hangs in my kitchen window where I can see it every single day. I love the forest. I was raised surrounded by the forest. As much as I love the ocean I just as much love going for walks in the forest as I do the beach. I wish you could see the details on this little person standing in the hoop. It is beautiful.

We had a gorgeous sunny day today so Dave and I went to the Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse and...

... the Belliveau Cove Lighthouse. The picture above - I look cold but it actually wasn't too windy or cold. That funny look on my face is the sun being too bright in my eyes.

Hope everyone is taking time in this busy time of the year to slow down and be more present in your daily activities. Happy Monday tomorrow !

Tree and stockings are up

We did it ! The tree is all set up and looking beautiful. It was a rough start this morning when half of the lights did'nt work and we had to go in town to buy more but everything fell into place.

Even the stockings are hung.

Happy Monday everyone.

First snow

We got up this morning to a very light blanket of snow on the ground. However, it's still falling so it could accumulate as the day progresses. Dave started to put the lights on the christmas tree this morning and half of the lights don't work :-( so we are headed in town to buy more lights.

Hopefully by tonight I'll have pictures of a finished tree to post.

Another themed party... tacky christmas sweaters

Remember the Cowboy themed party last month. Last night we had another one, this time the theme was ''Tacky Christmas Sweater/Outfit''. As I've mentioned here before, I don't have a lot of friends but those that I have are the best. We had fun last night. Everyone was in a very festive mood - we sang christmas carols, santa dropped by for a visit and laughter, oh ya, there was lots of laughter and cheers.
