Apples for pie

Tonight Dave and I went apple picking with my mom. We only wanted one bag-full each but we ended up picking each two bags, it's so much fun picking them and the bag is full in no time at all. They're cortland apples so they will keep most of the winter in a dark, cool place. Dave and I's two bags will not go to waste.

Mom was enjoying herself so much.

There are some pretty BIG ones !

Guess what's on my to-do list for the weekend...

mmmm apples. For the past several years I have resisted apple picking... mostly because I know I wouldn't use all of the apples! (I'm not the best baker lol). But those apples look YUMMY..... hmmmm..... tempting!

ps- love the new picture/banner :)

Hey Eco Yogini - thanks for your comment and I agree, those apples look yummy. I will bake pies over the weekend. I love apple pie but my favorite has to be pumpkin pie.

New picture/banner - yup, it's at Nova Nada (Birchdale Lake Retreat).

Ummm ~ I can smell those apple pies baking :) , the apples look sooo ... yummy delicious.
Your new banner picture looks so serene , it's a picture of my dream home (LOL). I would love to downsize to a small cabin deep in the woods , just can't talk hubby into it.

JoyceAnn - that place in the woods is so "unbelievable". I can't find the perfect word to describe it. When I go there I feel such peace. Seems there's no outside world. There are about a dozen of these little cabins throughout the retreat grounds but the one in the banner picture is the one I will be spending a week next summer with three other yogis.
