Mission accomplished

As posted yesterday, I was having difficulty catching the second squirrel that was coming into the house and helping himself to cookies, fruits, etc. on the kitchen cupboards.

This afternoon at 1 p.m. we had Mr. Squirrel in the humane trap (below). We drove to the lake to free him in the wild where he will surely get to meet many new friends. We get home, put said trap away in storage, turn around to go work in the gardens and what do we see...

... yup, squirrel number 3 ! Set trap once more and by 3 p.m. we had him in the trap (below). To the lake we go again.

Now listen, I know we will have other squirrels come around. After all, we live in the woods and the forest is where squirrels love to roam. I don't mind one bit having squirrels around outside but when they invite themselves to the dinner table - that's it.

I did some veggie seed planting today. Planted peas (above, see the row of pea sticks), carrots, spinach, ground cherry, baby corn and yellow squash.

Well, got to go clean the dirt under my finger nails - have to be presentable for the office tomorrow morning.

Have a happy Monday everyone and hope all is well wherever you find yourself in the world.

Those cheeky little squirrels, coming on over to dinner without an invitation -- how rude!! hee hee

They are so cute; but yes, you are right, they belong outside and not at the dinner table or on the counters helping themselves to your food.

:-)

So far this year we seem to be without rodents -- knock on wood.

Colleen - they are so cute and I felt bad moving them from their habitat but I'm saying to myself that they were so friendly they won't have any problem making friends.

I'll knock on wood for you !
