Annual Canoe Trip

In our area there is a tradition on Easter Weekend that's been 30+ years running - the Annual Clare Canoe Trip. This year almost 200 canoes were registered. It takes two days to complete the run, going through lakes and rivers. I always cook a big breakfast for Luc and his friend Sylvain the first morning of the run. Here they are getting ready to leave...

Most of the canoe trip doesn't have easy access for spectators but there are a few good spots to catch the canoes going by. This year they had beautiful, warm weather.

Some were very original creations. Everyone seems to be having such a great time (participants and spectators), such a peaceful, relaxing day.

the couple on the couch - were they canoeing?? or just sitting and watching.

Yup, they were canoeing with the others. Their make-shift canoe only lasted for the first day but that is a lot of rivers and lakes that the couch floated.
