We had gorgeous weather over the weekend and Dave and I benefited from that beauty to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Here are a few pictures to show our happiness :
Saturday morning we went to the Belliveau Cove Farmers' Market. This is where we buy our organic chicken and dry fish.
We stopped at a few yard sales... here you will see a nice wall-vase and antique cookie cutters I found for $2.
Another yard sale find (and the best find of the day) was this whirly-wind airplane made from Coca-Cola cans.
It's difficult to have a weekend go by without posting about our gardens...
Potato plants are doing very well.
And this morning we get up to this... but we sure needed the rain.

Pictures are gorgeous. The sky is so blue in the first one.
Great finds.
Wow, your potato plants are amazing. Jayla and I added some soil to ours, but we just mounded it as best we could. Next year we are trying your method.
I'm always happy to see you drop by Colleen. I am sooooooo anxious to see how many spuds my plants will yield.
Looks like you had a great weekend too! I love your photos as always!
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Great finds at the yard sales , I like that recycled airplane too ~~~ you saved those cans from the landfill a second time.
Your potatoes look great , can't wait to see the harvest. I've heard of people growing them in tires , crates and other containers , but I've never seen the harvest afterwards. We will be digging ours soon.

I wish our yard was big enough for a garden like yours - those potato plants look huge!
what? there's a farm market in belliveau cove? Why didn't I know this? Is it just on weekends?
Raegan - yup, there is a "very small" farmers' market in Belliveau's Cove every Saturday from 9 to 1 (summer months only). It's right on the main road, next to the lighthouse and across from the post office.
There's about 10 vendors - basket weaving, crafts, bread, deer meat sausages, dry fish and the booth where I buy all my organic chicken (they also have organic beef)and they also have a lot of greens and herbs. Oh ya, and lama wool. Actually, now that I think about it - there's all sorts of stuff in that booth.
Girls - so many villagers are anxious to see what my potato plants will yield but no one is more anxious and excited then I am. It will be September before I check.
