Visiting, eating and walking...

We are back from our road trip to Moncton, New Brunswick visiting our daughter and her fiancé. Dave and I left at 7 a.m. Thursday morning, taking our time, stopping whenever we felt like it and trying not to be intimidated by the fast moving traffic on the highway (yes I know Clarisse, I've been known to be part of that intimidating traffic myself at times).

We stopped at the Masstown Market for a few snacking items then off we were again. Before the Masstown Market we stopped in at Just Us for coffee. As you can see from the picture below the weather was perfect. We got to Moncton at 1 p.m. Dave left for his meetings further north at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday for supper we went to the Red Pepper (my second favorite in Moncton, see below for my first favorite).

Friday while my daugher was at work I decided to walk downtown Moncton from their house. I knew it was a good hike but I am not a beginner at walking so I put on my Teva hikers and backpack with camera in tow and off I go. All in all - I walked 10km but it was such fun. Bright blue sky, not too hot and a nice little fresh breeze.

Below - the Moncton skyline taken from the trail.

... and my feet taking a break after 5km.

Meeko - the cutest puppy that's always in ''playing mode''.

A favorite of mine in Ginette and André's home - actually, this wall fixture looks way bigger in this picture then it really is.

The other house pet - Puss.

Saturday we went to the Moncton Market. Have I mentioned before how much I love farmers' markets.

We bought these amazing cupcakes from the Cake Box at the market.

An entire day of shopping on Saturdaym so we needed a little something to relax - Appletini slush.

Ginette cooking supper Saturday evening - chicken tetrazzini. Very yummy it was.

Meeko looking all cute and innocent.

My favorite place to sit and have a healthy meal - Calactus (fully vegetarian). This is where we had our lunch yesterday (Sunday). Above - yours truly posing as we were going in. Below - Ginette and Dave enjoying their pizza and salad. When I'm here, I don't want to leave. The food is excellent and the atmosphere and decor is very down to earth and simple. Hence, the reason I feel right at home here.

(These two are two peas in a pod - they look alike, talk, laugh and giggle as one, they both have the same gestures and they enjoy each other's company like no other. She is a ''daddy's little girl'' one hundred per cent).

In a few days, I will post my purchases.

Have a good week everyone and Happy June !!!!!

Thanks for sharing your weekend. I felt I was there with you. I love all the photos. Jayla looked at them too and giggled when she saw the cat drinking from the tap.
:-)
Can't wait to see your great finds.

Clarisse - you know I don't ''always'' drive like a maniac...only on rare occasions when I'm in a hurry to get home and I don't want to drive behind BMWs (he, he, he).

Colleen - Thank Jayla for looking at my pictures. I like it when she does. Puss rarely drinks from his dish - it has to be tap water for him. He is such an ''old bachelor'' set in his ways.

Oh!! You went to Calactus! Such a great restaurant. Even non-vegetarians love this one. The food and atmosphere are wonderful!
