Tasha Tudor

I was sadden yesterday when I heard the news that Tasha Tudor has passed away. I have most of her books, many that I have read numerous times over and over again. "She lived the life that I am trying to live". Even though I had never met Tasha Tudor in person - she was an inspiration to me. She was on my list of "inspirational" people I want to meet.

She "Celebrated Life". So tonight, I will light a candle, drink tea and do a little bit of knitting.

I heard about this just this morning and I too am saddened. I will join you tonight in lighting a special candle for Tasha Tudor. What an amazing woman and truly inspiring. She lived her dream.

This has reminded me to send off Jayla's little book on Easter written by Tasha. I want to make a card to send with the book.

OMG - I did not know that she has passed away yesterday. What an awful loss.

Now I know why I enjoy Colleen's company so much and also seem to gravitate towards you Vickie. I absolutely adored Tasha Tudor, her life, her writing, her inspiring life.

Four years ago I lost a very dear friend at the age of 80 to leukemia. She reminded me so much of Tasha Tudor the way she threw caution to the wind and lived her life the way she wanted, writing, painting, enjoying her family and living in a lovely little cottage with the most amazing garden. Every painting she did, she hid a fairy in it. I am fortunate to have one of her beautiful paintings which I treasure.

Okay enough, just wanted to share my sadness with you too. Barb

I am so happy to see that some of the special women in my life share the same adoration for Tasha as I do (did)... I can't quite speak of her as in the past just yet.

Thanks for sharing this news , I hadn't heard about her death. I've heard about her art , but didn't know much about her lifestyle. I'm heading to her website to learn more about her legacy.

Oh Vickie, Jayla will be so thrilled (and me too). I explained to Jayla that Tasha had died and she asked me if we had to bring her book back (we have her book Pumpkin Moonshine), I told her "no, that it is our book and we get to keep it always". That made her very happy. She later told me that she was sad Tasha died, but reminded me that when you die you become a fairy. I love that.

Colleen - this you read her quote ?

"Einstein said that time is like a river, it flows in bends. If we could only step back around the turns, we could travel in either direction. I'm sure it's possible. When I die, I'm going right back to the 1830s. I'm not even afraid of dying. I think it must be quite exciting." ~Tasha Tudor

Thanks Jayla for reminding me about the fairy.
